C channel standoffs?

anyone ever mess around the c channel for standoffs rather then buying them or making them? Was thinking about trying a 3” c Channel around 3” long and seeing how it bites with a 1” post and wheel chair footrest?

@BCHunter used them on his camera mount
On sticks I’m not sure how close to the tree you would end up. On a platform you should be fine. Imho

Ok thanks, was thinking if I cut teeth in it and bolted it at 1” and 2” in each it would hold well just don’t want any kickout
