I have a question to n the carabiner that attaches your tether to your bridge. Does it matter how it is oriented?

Thanks

In climbing I was taught to "screw down so you don't screw up". I think that school of thought is based on the belief that gravity/vibration and such won't loosen your screw lock. That makes sense to me in some heavy industrial applications, but I don't think it matters much hanging in a tree for several hours.

Another school of thought is screw up so you have a better visual to confirm the gate is closed. Well our situation is unique in that better than half the time I am climbing in the dark, so the visual aspect goes out the window and I am confirming all my safety connections by feel.

I don't really subscribe to either, I do both ways and just make sure I check and double check that I am connected and the gate is closed.

only thing matters to me js that its screwed shut

I agree. Screw down/pear shaped part down. Gate always closed and facing you for visual inspection.

I use a Madrock super tech on my tether. I attached my distel and tender to the small end and run my webbing bridge through the large end. I figured the webbing bridge runs smoother through the flat side rather than getting scrunched up as it passed through the small end. Also I heard the screw down thing so it all worked together.
