Hey guys this may have already been done but I haven't seen a post on it so I'll share what I did. I took the original buckle off of one of my ameristep straps and tied it on my back pack. Now I can just slide my platform strap through it and it holds my ameristeps. When I'm ready to set it, I just press the buckle and pull the strap out. Simple mod that works good.
 
I had mine like that but it interfered with my sticks so I just throw them in my back pak

I'm at work and this is the best pic my wife could get me. The strap is daisy chained on the end.
