Each step gets me about to the top of my chest muscle......just under my chin. I guess that would technically be around 4.5 feet each. With my platform that gets me to fifteen feet off the ground with three steps. I stay in shape so I am probably more flexible than most people my age. I used to use a swaider as well but found for all the extra hassle that it wasn't worth it for me. I only got around six inches higher per step with the knaider and it can be a pain in the rear. I also use a knaider with my climbing sticks which gets me to about 6.5 feet with each stick. Just put an amsteel loop on the bottom of the stick. In my opinion the knaider can't be beat for the simplicity, weight and bulk.
