Carrying your sticks

I use my tether, girth hitch one end, run other Round and clip carabiner to tether and use ropeman to adjust to desired length. Get to tree just unhook tether and put in pouch and start hanging sticks.

I like the idea of this method if I want to go in light. Otherwise I'd probably strap them to my Horn Hunter G3 pack.

I figured out a way to attach my cut-down heliums w/ versa mini straps to the back of my bag so that they're tight, quiet & secure - but I can just un-cinch & pull the end of the versa mini to completely release them from the bag one at a time, without taking the pack off. It's not smooth yet in practice. Mostly because the last step of securing them makes the whole system a little tight to remove. It works, but takes some awkward side tugging, and there's a moment of uncertainty: Did I unhook the cinched end correctly?. If I ever get to that, I'll post more pictures or a video.

The idea is to position the stick against the bag and first use the versa mini to create a series of attachment loops of itself through the pack's molle webbing, and then use the rest of the same versa mini to run through those loops and tighten, holding the stick against the bag. I think it's a good concept, just needs work to make the cinching part easier to release without looking at it, but still secure enough to put up with brush raking it.

I use the original ultimate bow sling, I've had it for years and it works great! Just loop the paracord over the steps and cinch down, then carry over your shoulder or over your head and shoulder or behind your back. I originally bought it for my bow, but really like it for my sticks. I have three of these slings, one for my bow and two for my rifles.

I use 2 of these to hold my beast sticks together. When heading to the tree in the dark I will carry my sticks in my hand bundled together. I then can get to my tree and immediately begin climbing. My predator will be clipped to the back of my saddle or in my other hand depending on terrain and distance. When traveling during day light hours I will always have my bow ready so the sticks will be strapped to my pack, once at the tree I will swap my bow and sticks and climb the tree with the bow on the pack. Works well for me and is super quiet.

Not sure if you carry a pack? My ridge runner is on the back of my pack now as well.

I second this method. this bungee ball came with a previous set of Heliums I had - still works great with 3 LW sticks. I end up strapping this to my Badlands pack with the straps that come on the outer face of the pack.

I strap mine (4x Muddy pro`s) to my pack . I bundle them and use the original straps that came with them. Then I use the compression straps on my Scentlok Rogue to fasten them securely. I Walk in to my stand using this method and its almost too easy. I have my hands free because I use a bow sling. My pack with all my essentials including platform (XOP DIY) saddle and ropes, etc weighs 24.5 lbs. with the sticks . I scouted 3 hours yesterday before setting up . I had all this stuff strapped to my back and I didnt even break a sweat. I have found that securing the steps to each other and then the pack works best. No noise at all.

A simple strap with a loop tied in ends works fine. You just slip the loops over the end and tree brackets. Easy, cheap and above all quiet.

Does anyone use their tether or lineman's belt to carry sticks? You're already carrying them.
I saw one of the THP guys doing this. Either Ted or Aaron. I have thought about it myself since I can adjust length easily with the prusik, but that’s a whole lot of rope either way. The tag end gets annoying.
I just use a shoulder strap from a yeti cooler and detach it at the tree; then I attach it to my Predator for ascent; then it becomes my back-band at hunting height.

That's where I got the idea. I messed around with it yesterday and it works fine if you loop the tag around a couple of times and hook the carabiner into the end. Although I had thought about using the strap from my bow case, I never really use it.

I have been using a suspension relief strap from old safety harness. Girth hitch one end and slide other end over tighten with a triglide. Sling over neck and go! Cheep to try it out!

If anyone uses an aider on their bottom stick and anyone tried to use that as a carrying strap? Kill two birds with one stone?

Might try this. Tag end might help me eliminate some bungees.

You can always use a back-band from your choice of saddle. You will also need 2 small 12 inch loops of para cord . Always with you in a pinch. Don`t ask how I know this .

Yes. Did this with a CAYG aider when I was using multiple sticks. It did work. Made one loop over each end and used it like sling. Eventually went with just one stick and permanently affixed my CAYG aider to it.

What bow sling do you use?
