Centerpoint Sale

You'd think NY would want to encourage hunters to adopt modern Xbows?
Yeah… not sure the logic behind it but 17” min width at limbs and draw weight between 100-200lbs. I assume to limit range during the dedicated crossbow season which is a week before rifle season. VT allows crossbows during regular archery season, and as far I can find, no restrictions.

The CP400 showed up today. Never got a tracking number and I actually messaged them this morning and they said it hadn’t shipped yet. FedEx dropped it off like an hour and half ago. Got everything mounted on it. Maybe take a couple of shots with it later.

Took me about an hour to assemble the thing, a half dozen shots through, it’s zeroed and I like it so far. So far just 20 yards, need some time with it to try stretching it out

Initial thoughts: I have the Barnett XP400, which is lighter but wider limb to limb. Roughly the same speed, but CP400 has more KE(don't quite understand that). CP400 is a nicer looking bow, but that’s subjective. Crank cocking device on the XP400 clicks all the way around unless you turn off the lock, which is a little risky. CP400 is “silent” except for a few squeaks. But then you can remove the cocking device. The XP400 stays connected and you just take the handle off. Undecided on the scope/reticle is illuminated but doesn’t seem as clear(probably related) but may just need to get used to it or keep the illumination off. Build quality feels top notch.
