Ouch. That's a great buck! This is what happens when you try to do the right thing and stay home to support your wife because her father is sick. Your hunting buddy helps himself to one of your favorite river spots.
Thanks Rollie! It's been tough but as the old adage goes " happy wife happy life" . Perhaps I'll be awarded a late season bruiser. You did the right thing Buddy.
Very nice buck though, definite trip to the taxi.
If not, at least you still have the "happy wife"....Thanks Rollie! It's been tough but as the old adage goes " happy wife happy life" . Perhaps I'll be awarded a late season bruiser.
That's right!!! It's been a funny rut-cation. I was originally scheduled to fly to Wisconsin and hunt with a good friend on private land. Had to cancel. So now I'm thinking I'll just hunt a little bit at the river. Not happening. Then my buddy from Wisconsin starts sending me pictures of all the deer they are shooting, including big bucks. Then my hunting buddy from home calls and says he would love to hunt this certain spot that I never touch until this week. Being the unselfish and amazing friend that I am, I say yes. ( while secretly hoping he sees a spike at best). The rest is history . But it hasn't been too bad. I've had a 5 year old buck chasing a 2 year old doe around the living room for the last 5 days.If not, at least you still have the "happy wife"....
