Got that right. I started with everything on my saddle then it went in my pack now its back on my saddle and after the hunt tonight I was thinking to put it back in the pack lolEverybody wants to have pouches on their saddle but Nobody really likes stuff on their saddle
Im moving back to this method...lolGot that right. I started with everything on my saddle then it went in my pack now its back on my saddle and after the hunt tonight I was thinking to put it back in the pack lol
Best thing for me I found was using a water bottle holder as a rope pouch and using my back band as a sling and wearing the rope pouch over my shoulder as I walk in.Got that right. Since going to single stick with repel rope I go back and forth with having my rope in a side pouch on the saddle or having it in the pack. Either I have to carry an extra tether to climb with or have my repel rope on my saddle. Having it on the saddle makes the most sense for me but 2nd guess myself all the time. Having suspenders does help when the pouches are on the saddle.Best thing for me I found was using a water bottle holder as a rope pouch and using my back band as a sling and wearing the rope pouch over my shoulder as I walk in.
When I get to my tree I can take my stick off my pack without taking my pack off and attach to tree. Hook up my bow to paracord in rope pouch. Hook up my tether and linesmen up and start climbing...... simple and quiet climb and the rope pouch stays as is bailing out rope as I need which isn’t much when you one stick.... when I get to hunting height I pull out my platform from my pack with out taking my pack off and set it, then put my stick off on strong side (so I can pivot more instead of trying to shoot quickly from my week side). Pull out a daisy chain from my rope pouch and make a gear hanger, hang my pack, and then hang the rope pouch. Last pull up the bow and settle in.
Y’all can thank @Redbeard for that one

I like the way you think! Great and easy modification.Just passing this 10 cent mod along to anyone interested. Perhaps it’s been done before but I haven’t seen it. Simple, effective, lightweight, cheap, and dual purpose - what’s not to love!
What you need: two washers, a bit of paracord, a bit of shock cord, stealth strip (optional)
I girth hitched a few washers (covered in stealth strip) to my molle to carry my sticks up the tree a few months ago. This works great. Then this past week I got to thinking and by just adding a bit of shock cord above the washers I have a simple way to hold my rappel rope once at height or even walking in as well. Typically I carry my rappel rope in my pack while walking in, but this gives me the option to carry in or to attach it to my saddle once at hunting height. It works very well. This is with 9mm canyon maxim rope, so it’d pack even nicer with 8mm oplux.
I know there are number of options out there but just figured I’d share this one.
Best of luck and happy hunting!

Yep. I have two I bought because you folks said I had to have em. They've never been on.Everybody wants to have pouches on their saddle but Nobody really likes stuff on their saddle
Struggling to visualize, pic would be helpful.I coil up my rope throw an Amsteel piece with an eye on both ends around it ,cinch and wear it like a sleeve. The other end of Amsteel has a small carabiner that clips to my saddle across my shoulders.
What all are you suspending from your saddle? Is that a roll of sticks and a giant grunt tube?
That's right, I remember where you discussed using that. When you get a chance could you post some pictures of how it all goes together? It's a Petzl Podium and that is an adjustable knee saver.
