I’m wondering if there are any cheap tablets that I can use to check my trail cams. Has anyone done this? What tablet did you use?

Look into a memory card viewer. Wild game innovations makes one. I got one off ebay for $20 I think.
I think I got mine for 35 from the store....works good. Ive been using for 3 or 4 years how. The little plug in to phone and plugs in memory card is junk IMO

I have been using my phone. It’s an iPhone so it’s a hassle. It downloads all the pics then I have to delete all of them off of my phone. It takes 30 minutes to do one card. I’m hoping I can get a tablet to look at the pics, save the ones I want to the tablet, then delete the pics off of the card.
Has anyone done this? Does anyone have a cheap tablet that will do this? I know I will have to use the card adapter plug thing thats fine.

I use a Lenovo ThinkPad 8 (didn't get it specifically for this purpose, but it's what I usually use). All of my cameras are using microSD in a full SD adapter, I pop out the microSD, stick it into the tablet, and drop the files into my OneDrive folder. Then, when I get home, it all syncs to the cloud and I sort through them on my laptop.

I read somewhere recently that the Amazon fire tablets worked really well with the adapter. I'm still old school and just swap cards and look at pics at home.

I use my lightweight laptop from work since it's about as easy to pack along as an iPad. You might be able to find an older used laptop for pretty darn cheap, and it would only weigh a bit more than a tablet.

Have you tried a card reader that works through an app like this one? I simply connect the card reader and go to the app. I can view all the images on the external card and choose to clear them or move them to phone. I’ve had no issues with this and I’ve been using it for 2 seasons.

You can get a card reader on Camofire, they have them every Tuesday for trail camera Tuesday. Then hook it to a computer monitor. This gives you the ability to blow them up.

I also use a chromebook sometimes. Its small, portable, has SD card slot built in. 11" screen. They are pretty cheap also. Probably cheaper than an iPad. Just stick card in and it pulls it up automagically. I use my phone when Im going into my stand alot so I can look at pics while I'm sitting and I can take my time.

I tried using a tablet and though its nice for a bigger view I found the card reader was easier. I forget the name of it however I got it from Walmart (its not made by one the camera companies).
