A friend of mine wants to get into hunting but is concerned about the entry price. I told him ground hunting is affective and has been used for hundreds of years but he wants to be up in the trees. What's everyones opinion on low cost climbing methods? Thanks!!

Is he looking to get into saddle hunting specifically or just hunting elevated in general?

The cheapest would be a handful of screw in steps. The cheap Amersisteps can be had for less then $2 a piece.

Cheap climbing treestand. $40.

Yeah that's probably what ill tell him, I liked the idea of the girth hitched aider with the tether just for minimalism but I don't wanna throw something too difficult at him for his first time. I'll see what he thinks. Thanks for all the suggestions!!

He can have my summit climber plus harness for $50. Steel version weighing in at only 30#.
