I was on the local FB marketplace browsing hunting gear, always keeping an eye on cheap gear and nifty stuff I can use and I came across a guy selling 2 strap on swivel seats. I thought well for that price I can do something with them, and if I wrecked them not a huge loss.

So I took it to the local fabricator and had them cut the swivel seat off of it, and weld a piece of angle iron across it and this is the result. Stick a grade8 bolt in the hole and ratchet it down.

I did testing at ground level and it seems to be pretty solid actually. I was able to bounce a bit on it and didnt hear any pops or sounds to worry me.

I've had it in a tree once, but I'm hesitant to use it too much until I gain confidence in itScreenshot_20191126-195138_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20191126-195127_Gallery.jpg

I like it. I would have had them weld the angle iron on top of the bar incase the weld broke. You would loose your footing either way but after it broke, if it broke, it would have to bounce off the bar. Either way I think it would work great!

I thought about that but with the L shape of the angle iron it wouldn't let my feet rest comfortably on it.

Contemplating taking another piece of this angle iron and cutting bolt holes into it to attach to the top of my helium stick ala AOF platform style

That's an awesome idea! Post some pics when you attach it.

Careful with that..any side pressure it will kick out..i have the same seat i was messing with it yesterday and everytime i moved it kick out..the v bracket just doesnt bite into the tree..i even ratchet strap top and bottom and it still moved
