I was able to get the MCR3 set up tonight. Here's the rundown...
Good:
1. I got the chest rig to ride high enough for my liking. Don't think it will get bound up in my bridge. Took some doing, but I also got the straps tight on my small frame.
2. The front panel is plenty big yet doesn't end up curving around the sides of my body and interfering with twisting movements.
3. Took a few extra holster clips and fed them upside down through molle. Now they hold my Nite Ize adjustable bungee.
Not so good:
1. Turns out, it only has one internal pocket that spans the whole thing. Not a big deal because I probably won't be accessing it a whole lot. I can see it may be useful for gutting gloves, a topo map, and some TP, all in a ziplock bag.
2. I mitigated the velcro closure that runs the full length of the internal pocket by affixing a piece of hook strip so it doesn't touch the loop on the other side. I left just a little bit uncovered in the middle so it still stays closed, but now there's no obnoxious velcro ripping sound when I open it.
Excellent:
1. The Voodoo Tactical pouch I added on the front fits a bunch of stuff! It's holding a range finder, an OZ 400B (battery removed and placed next to the unit so it doesn't inadvertently turn on), a tree strap (sitting on top of the battery), and a Outdoor Edge Razor knife with 2 extra blades. Dudes, if you don't own one of those... go to Amazon right now. No seriously, I'll wait.
2. A bit of shock cord fed through molle got the weight of my aider off my saddle!
I'm hoping there is enough real estate in the middle to drop in my Wild Edge steps in a similar way to what this guy did on his saddle. I'll keep yall posted.
