Chest rig

Pulled the trigger on a Condor MCR3 last night. Should be here tomorrow (gotta love Amazon). Think I'll be able to get it cinched up high enough on my chest to clear my bridge. Comes with 3 internal pouches and a pile of molle rows. I like the idea of being able to add pouches if I deem the necessary in the future. Just couldn't see myself happy with fixed pouches like a pack rabbit or a turkey vest.

Post some pics on here and let me see how you decide to set it up. I would like to see how you do it and also know how it works out for you.

I was able to get the MCR3 set up tonight. Here's the rundown...

Good:
1. I got the chest rig to ride high enough for my liking. Don't think it will get bound up in my bridge. Took some doing, but I also got the straps tight on my small frame.
2. The front panel is plenty big yet doesn't end up curving around the sides of my body and interfering with twisting movements.
3. Took a few extra holster clips and fed them upside down through molle. Now they hold my Nite Ize adjustable bungee.

Not so good:
1. Turns out, it only has one internal pocket that spans the whole thing. Not a big deal because I probably won't be accessing it a whole lot. I can see it may be useful for gutting gloves, a topo map, and some TP, all in a ziplock bag.
2. I mitigated the velcro closure that runs the full length of the internal pocket by affixing a piece of hook strip so it doesn't touch the loop on the other side. I left just a little bit uncovered in the middle so it still stays closed, but now there's no obnoxious velcro ripping sound when I open it.

Excellent:
1. The Voodoo Tactical pouch I added on the front fits a bunch of stuff! It's holding a range finder, an OZ 400B (battery removed and placed next to the unit so it doesn't inadvertently turn on), a tree strap (sitting on top of the battery), and a Outdoor Edge Razor knife with 2 extra blades. Dudes, if you don't own one of those... go to Amazon right now. No seriously, I'll wait.
2. A bit of shock cord fed through molle got the weight of my aider off my saddle!

I'm hoping there is enough real estate in the middle to drop in my Wild Edge steps in a similar way to what this guy did on his saddle. I'll keep yall posted.

I’ve been considering the primos bow hunters vest for years. Not quite as much bulk but less storage also. Have any of you used it? My biggest problem with going without a backpack is water. I usually carry a minimum of two bottles of water. My badlands monster fanny is about as small as I want.

Have you shot your bow with it on yet? I don't think it will interfere with anything, but just curious. I just bought me saddle and steps so I'll wait a little bit to get myself a chest rig. BTW, I already have the Outdoor Edge knife. And yes, it's awesome!

Literally just got back inside. OPTEST SAT. Pretty happy with it. String clearance isn't an issue at all. I took shots without the aider or bungee attached. However, the pouch was completely full. Wanted to see if there would be any interference in that configuration because I have had deer approach while I'm still setting up or just as I'm packing up because of noises I made.

No problemo! I'm actually tickled the way it's set up now (went through two iterations). Having everything organized in the front beats the heck out of trying to fish something from the bottom of a sack that's hanging on a tree.

Just hope four Wild Edge steps will fit in the open space...

You’re setup looks awesome! I got one in multicam camo haven’t shot my bow with it on yet just way to hot outside today still trying to set it up how I want

Steps came today. They attached to the rig perfectly. Really happy with the way it all turned out! Everything I need during a hunt is now up front and easily accessible.

That chest rig looks great. The only issue I'm seeing that could be an issue is halfway through the climb up the tree with my hand climber top when I hang to adjust it, the bridge might interfere with the chest rig.

Finally got my chest rig and my saddle. I thought I would show you guys who are interested. This is all I'm going to wear, no backpack. I've shot out of it already and it hasn't interfered...yet. haven't tried climbing in a tree yet.

I loved my chest rug for the way everything was organized and up front, ready for me to deploy.

I ultimately abandoned it though because it was just too dern hot.
