CLASSIFIED SCAMMERS

Once again I'd like to remind everyone to double check to be sure who you are replying to with respect to classifieds responses. The new scammer tactic seems to be to PM a response to someone who says "I'll take it" in a classified then hoping to pass themselves off as the seller.

Best action is to PM the seller directly letting them know you're interested in the item and wait for them to respond to your PM. That way the scammer has no clue and is unable to try to intercede in the transaction.

Once again I want to take a moment to offer a sincere Thanks to all of you who have reported suspicious PMs pertaining to classified listings. Without your help we would never be aware of most of these guys since they aren't typically targeting forum staff members with their PM'd offers.

The typical operating procedure appears to be contacting people with WTB ads posted claiming that their buddy "has one available". Typically the respondent is a very new member with very few or no posts and is posting for a friend whose email is supplied.

We will try to keep them cleaned up as we can but please exercise extreme caution when encountering instances such as described.

I don't know if I'm communicating with one right now. But I tried to complete the transaction and both paypal and cashapp have their account flagged. See my post in classified. The member name is "Futuremas" they didn't respond to my post just a PM.

I wouldn't do any transactions with futuremas if you're not comfortable with him. We have had a lot of scammers of late.

Thanks guys pretty sure yall just saved me some coin... asked for a current picture with the date and he sent me the same picture he sent the first time. Except this time it had a super ****ty photoshop added with the date. Idk where yall are at. But he's telling me he's in New Jersey so it should be dark like it is here in South Florida. CONFIRMED SCAMMER!!! PLEASE DUMP HIM!!!
