I was at goodwill the other day and found a slumberjack, made in USA, duck canvas sleeping bag for 6 bucks. The previous owner used it as a dog bed as far as I can tell with the amount of hair and the smell. My other sleeping bags are military surplus down bags. I've always just filled the tub and hand washed and hung to dry. That seems to work ok but I'm thinking there is a better way. Anybody have any diy tricks for getting their sleeping bags clean and scent free? Baking soaps and whatever detergent we currently have in the laundry room is what I've been using
