I'm transitioning from climber stand to lock on and wanted some help on what exactly I would need to climb safely using WE Steps and climbing trees that have branches.

Thanks

Safety harness with linemans loops and 2 linemans belts. 2 belts so you keep one attached while you hook the other above the limb.

You gotta have a harness with linesman’s loops. They can be had new for about $75. But..... I’m gonna tell you to buy a saddle. Best harness you’ll ever wear and gives you that versatility

Right now I use hunter safety system Harness until I get my saddle .They come with lineman loops . I use the rope lineman belt with rope man 1 and rope tree tether that came with harness . You do not get rope man one with HSS . I use belt on the way up and when get to branch or tree stand I lock in with tether and remove lineman belt move around branch and re attach lineman and remove tether and keep going .Always stay attached .You can use two lineman as already mentioned .Just make sure you are always attached to tree and keep lineman above your waist . Check you tube some good tips on there .

With a standard lock on I would climb with it on my back and at height girth hitch a length of paracord with a small prusik and biner....girth the paracord to the tree above where u want the stand then clip the biner to the stand so I can use 2 hands to work the strap...
