What size spurs are needed for tree climbing? Pole gaffs or tree gaffs? And what are their lengths respectfully? I found a used set of climbing spurs that have about 1.75” gaffs. Trying to find out if they will work. They do not Have interchangeable gaff system
 
pole gaffs are all u need for about 90% of trees ...only big thick bark trees need tree gaffs

I have tree gaffs and they’re a little scary. From what I’ve seen pole gaffs angle out straight from the side of the stirrup and tree gaffs are offset out away and the angle down. My Klein tree gaffs are 2-1/2”.
