Climbing stick question. On a hawk helium 20 inch stick do you have to change out the versa button if using 1/4@ Amsteel or 8mm accessory cord ? Or is there a better rope size and just use the factory versa button. Wanting to do the rope mod just making sure it’s right. Thanks for the reply

I got a set of 20 inchers and they came with Amsteel ropes.
I used them twice and one of the times one of them came loose and I kinda went for a ride.
I should've either watched more videos of how to tie them off, or 'shorten' the button...
 
When you are going around the tree and back to the versa button make sure that you're going underneath and behind the rope where it is attached to the versa button, then I loop the versa button in front of the part you just went behind and then do a half hitch on either side of the versa to finish it off...
