Yep they will come with straps

As said above, it’s something that most guys end up tinkering with to go lighter &/or quieter

It’s like a gateway drug of saddle hunting & leads to a never ending slippery slope of costly searching for improvements

Enjoy

Yes. I have gen 1 hawks(old black bracket). I quickly ditched their stock system after those giant buckles were colicy. Alumibuttons, mini versastraps, and removed 2 steps - 1 from the bottom and 1 from the middle section opposite side from one another - but kept the top 2 for luxury.
I used 8mm kernmantle as a strap last year and it was okay..more sag than I wanted.
The mini versastraps were by accident but a nice surprise. I ordered the regular version but was sent the minis. The spacing difference is .75" per section. I've grown to like the tight spacing. They are what I will be using from here on out.
Leftover kernmantle doubles as a carrying strap and an aider.
Plenty of options available. Practice your sets when you decide.

That's an interesting mod. Not for me, but kudos for the ingenuity.

Saw some some guy do it on YouTube and i had to try it. I'm not very flexible and hunt high pressured land so I use 4 sticks if the tree allows it. On those 4 sticks this mod saved a ton of weight. Roughly 2lbs if not more. I kept the spare parts in a baggie as a token of accomplishment.

What do you all do to store them during pack in/out? Beginner here.
