so I know that there are sticks out there rated for 350.. and that's about what I am loaded down with all my hunting gear, but which are the most friendly?

So I'm big and heavy and have very large feet yet have little difficulty getting in to a tree stand using the tree ladders.... but I'm wanting to go lighter. I purchased a bunch of the stepp ladder steps and some of the nock offs. They look great, but I've decided to sell them and replace them with individual sticks. I have actually never even put the stepps on a tree, just feel it would be easier with sticks.

Thanks in advance, BigJim

XOP's have the largest steps and standoffs that put the sticks farther out fro. The tree. I'm about 285 and really like them of all the sticks I have tried. Only drawback is they are a bit heavier than the heliums or LW's.

I'm a bigger guy (bigger than you) and I use the Hawk Helium sticks and yes I know they aren't rated for my weight. However, I haven't had any issue with them. They do sit a little close to the tree but I am working on a suitable mod that won't add too much stress to the aluminum.

With you being a bigger guy and your experience with climbing sticks. Unless you are doing some form of climbing a lot, I strongly recommend getting double step sticks. In my personal opinion it is a lot more comfortable putting your sticks on the tree when you can put your weight on both legs.

User name checks out. :). I gotta go with what everyone else says, you might wanna look at doublesteps. I have hawk heliums and I'm 230 dry but about 285 loaded. If I get my weight sideways on the steps I can feel them flex a bit.
