Any y’all try climbing with just a single step rope aider? Since I climb tethered in, I been toying around the idea of one stick style climbing with just a rope aider girth hitched round a tree. Slow I know but oh so quiet and easy to move. I timed my last climb to 20ft and it took a lil over 10 mins from approach to hunting set up.

Can you describe how you do it?

Yes sir I have done this with a homemade setup I got off YouTube from a guy that climbs with just two ropes basically it is not bad at all I rotate between this one sticking, bolts, rope steps, and I have a rope ladder from Arc that I am trying to figure out the best way to use! But I also made a board type thing that girth hitches around the tree and makes for a real easy climb!

I have a 4 step aider. Can I try it this with this and a tether?
I am thinking:
Put the tether up as high as I can reach.
Attach the aider below the tether.
Climb up each step moving the tether up with each step.
Hang from tether and reach down and move the aider up
Repeat.

Been playing around this summer doing exactly that, only with a 3 step aider tho. Like you said it's very quiet and really doesn't take too long. Only con so far is the uncomfortable sit while you move the aider up when just hanging from your tether, But it seems to be more comfortable when you shorten your bridge.

I tried once and it didn't go well. I intend to try again since making my bridge adjustable.

I tried climbing with the tether/aider in the park tonight. I did not have a linemans rope so it was too difficult. I will try again soon.
