Close call

I had that pretty much exactly happen. I was wearing chaps though fortunately. It cut through just the very outer layer of them so I don't know what it would have done to my quadricep without it, but glad I didn't have to find out.

My dad did the same thing but wasn't quite as lucky as you are to have a cell phone in his pocket and it got him in his leg pretty good. A Chainsaw doesn't make a real clean wound to stitch up let me tell you.

Caught my shoe lace in my limbing saw once. Cut through about half the heavy vibram sole of the merrel hiking boot i was wearing before stalling...lost a good pair of boots and smartwool socks. Barely a scratch on my foot, my heart didnt slow down for a week. Went out that night and bought a pair of chippewa steel toes I"ve been wearing ever since(probably 10 years now). Pretty lucky it was only a 38cc saw and not my 92cc mculloch which would have gone all the way through my foot without even slowing down.

I was about 13 years old and working on my dad's logging crew. My job was to cut the limbs and tops off of felled trees. I made a wrong step off over a limb somehow the saw flipped out of my hands went between my knees...shredded both pants legs. It happened so fast I didn't have time to react! I will never forget the puzzled look my dad had on his face when I arrived back at the log ramp wearing what appeared to be shorts and work boots. Glad you are ok!

I probably should invest in some chaps. But I got spurs to buy so I can cut my leg 30ft up in a tree. I been doing a lot of chainsawing the last 2 years.
What's your ER copay? (Asked by someone with a chainsaw, no vhaps, and works in an ER)

Chaps are around 100.
