Cold weather clothing and saddle hunting

This may sound completely stupid...but I’m new so here goes. How do you get your cold weather jackets and bibs on while saddle hunting. I typically use a climber and after I’m at hunting height I’d get dressed. Any advice? Oh and does your cold weather clothing bunch up over the bridge? Thanks in advance I know they’re strange questions.

I just put my saddle on right over my bibs. Then put the parka on over top of it and didn’t zip it up (almost never zip it up anyway or at least not all the way). Overall it was more bulky but it wasn’t enough to get in the way of the bridge or drawing the bow or anything. I would just test what you’re using real quick before hand and make sure your setup will work for you.

My bibs zip the length of the sides. Leave em on but mostly unzipped with saddle over for the hike in, usually base layer plus a hoodie and vest with jacket in my pack. If I start to get hot I stop walking and cool down. Also take 3 minutes to cool off at bottom of tree. Climb up, zip up bibs, put on jacket good to go.

1 thing for sure is make sure you wear bibs in the cold, lower back will be exposed with regular pants and jacket.

No other issues.

First lite puffy pants have full lemgth side zips and go right over my saddle. The jacket tucks in nice from the top. I bring em in my pack right up there with me and can add/remove as needed from my platform.

I've got the puffy vest and jacket, but i had to go for bibs, the wind was murdering my lower back in the saddle.

I typically wear my saddle over my bibs and carry my upper layers in. I carry my upper layers up the tree in my pack or pull them up after I'm settled in the tree. Its pretty easy to put the upper layers on once you're setup. I just pull them down into bridge loops after I get them on. I hunt in northern lower Michigan so sometimes my upper layers consist of up to 3 or 4 layers of sweatshirts and jackets. I just pull them down individually as put them on.

There’s another thread here somewhere but I can’t find it. I wear my lower garments in and pack my jacket in on my pack. As I cool off in the tree I put my jacket on, it does bunch a bit but such is life. If you use a platform you can always stand on it and pull the jacket down around your waist past the saddle.
