what’s the best way to wear your coat over the saddle? That lets cold air get under your back side, are just saddle over your coat?

Yep it sucks. Or use the cord lock bungie on the coat. Long sits its a must to have the coat tucked. Draft will want you to get down It happen to me last sunday and it was mid 30 with some crazy chilly winds and it wasn't even blowing that hard.

I usually try to cool off at the tree then dawn all layers prior to climbing up. Once at hunting height you can unzip bibs, jacket etc. if needed.

I usually dont put my warmer layers (jacket or coat) on until about 30min after I'm set-up at height. I heat up and sweat really easily so just climbing and getting set up makes me too warm to have my coat on. When I'm ready to put the coat on I throw my coat on, hook-up my linemans rope, pull in close to the tree to take tension off the tether, zip up the coat and tuck it in to the saddle, then release tension on the linemans and put tension back on the tether. Wayyy easier to do on a platform than a ROS but it's still doable either way. I havent had to put my bibs on while in the saddle yet.... I'll probably have to climb down to that.

This has been working for me as well. It can take some adjusting when adding the final outer layer as things can bunch up under the saddle, but have managed pretty well.

thanks. we are just how getting cold weather, I have had pretty good luck this year out of the saddle I want to make it work

I have been adding a vest in addition to what I would wear to be warm enough normally. I leave the vest unzipped and on the outside of the saddle. I have a chemical hand warmer pack in each of the slash vest pockets. It’s very easy to get my hands in and out and allows me to not wear gloves. I don’t like shooting my bow with gloves.

I bought a really heavy pair of woodchoppers leather mittens . Put a plastic caribeaner on each to clip to tether when I need my hands out. Sorta like using a muff.
