This stand was left on a tree on our property by previous hunt club (5+ yrs ago) and I finally took my sticks today and cut it off the tree. It is actually in great condition and weighs 7.4 lbs as pictured. Going to play around and try to use it as a platform. Any suggestions are welcome on how to modify it. I can always leave it as is and alternate between saddle mode, standing, and sitting for more options on all day hunts and tolerate the extra carry weight. Keep in mind I am an xbow and gun hunter, so side pressure leverage is not very important to me like regular bow shooters need to shoot around the tree.

If it’s been in the woods that long better chech those bolts and cables . I would test at ground level first.

Agreed, all steel parts and cables will be replaced immediately. The aluminum should be fine. May even use amsteel instead of the cables.
