Anyone have one of these yet? Thinking of swapping this out for my predator xl as I'm a leaner.

They have not started shipping yet. I should have one in the next few days hopefully. If and when I get it I will get some pictures, weight info and all that stuff people will want to know. I’m 6’5, 230lbs and run the Trophy Line mission currently so I’m curious to see how going down in size will be. I wear a size 14W boot for reference which I will show in the pictures.

I agree. I wouldn’t lay out a pile of cash to pre-manufacture without completing testing first. One required change in the design could put a small company out of business otherwise. Now that they have completed that testing, they are set to ramp up production. If the CRUZR saddle is any indication, my guess is they will drive the lead time down in relatively short order. Chad stated that will be a priority.

See you make a design, then find a manufacturer, pay to have a first unit produced (a prototype). That usually costs a ton more than producing 200 of the units in mass production. Then you take the prototype to a 3rd party testing facility. If it passes the standards tests then you proceed to production. There are a couple problems with this first being there are 0 standards for saddle platforms or saddles so companies are either picking and choosing which tests their gear gets based on tree stand standards or they are lying in general about 3rd party testing. Now with sticks it is similar except there are standards in place. He will have to have them tested to meet those and also have to tip toe around existing patents (think of how the seeker had to change) and that takes time and usually money for patent searches and avoiding claims...... I personally know most everyone hates the idea of TMA being involved with saddles in the future but the one positive is there will be a different set of ANSI standards that are specific to saddle usage and it will also be a requirement that every company carries that special high dollar liability insurance. This will weed out all the random companies that are making them in their basements with no true strength standards or understanding of design concepts and it will also mean if you fall and get hurt based on their product failing, that you or your family are compensated properly for their negligence, instead of them filing bankruptcy and you being crapped on. It’s bad for these small start ups and custom only shops but it is better for us in safety aspects, in my opinion.

I had no idea that as part of the patent deal, Cruzr had their Seeker manufactured by the same source as Tethrd predator. Interesting...
