Cruzr XC Sizing

I got my Crüzr today. Initial impressions. Very very nice. It does feel like a hammock.
I got a size 3. Chad recommended a size 2. But it feels great so far.

I am a 36-37 waist. But you know I wonder if you should measure at the widest part of your hips instead. I am 42 or 43 inches if I measure there. My shoulders are very wide too.
I think if you are borderline this might be a good secondary measurement.

After an initial sit. No hip pinch. I can’t wait to try it for several hours.

Are you able to make any direct comparisons to the Flex? Did you get the amsteel bridge?

I sold my flex but I hunted out of it a lot last fall. The flex always felt like a lot of bulk but comfortable. The Crüzr has the adjustable bridge.

I guess my initial impressions. Keep in mind I like to sit not lean This just an opinion among many.
1. Sewing is excellent
2. I suspect comfort is superb. Maybe only second to the JX3.
It is hard to be sure until you use it for hours. The mesh has some give like fleece which is a plus. It seems to have no pressure points anywhere
3. The bulk and wearability when walking. Well better than the flex because of the mesh and l suspect lower weight . Nothing will beat a phantom in that category.
4. Bridge is a perfect cross between the triad and ultribridge
5. The leg straps are very small raptor buckles. Easy to find and easy to attach and lighter than the flex. I like them. Better than J hooks for me. The leg straps are nicely put together
6. Waist belt is adjustable from two sides and is smaller than a flex bigger than a mantis
7.The pleat will stay closed. I think the version 2 flex will too.
8. It may be a bit big earlier season but perfect for cool Ontario falls and will be fine for me. I do wish I could compare it to a size 2.
10. The line mans loops are a perfect size and location for me. Just a nice size. Easy to see.
11. For a really big man I doubt any saddle except perhaps a Tx5 will be better or maybe equal
12. Sit or lean I like the XC model. The pleat stays closed when you want anyways
I want to try a TX5 which seems similar and maybe equally good in all the things I just mentioned.

The Crüzr is what I thought
A mesh flex. I like it and suspect it will be more comfortable than anything not called a JX3. I have never sat in a conventional saddle that had zero pressure points without adjustments. But this one feels great from minute one

Sizing. The H2 is a comfortable saddle. It cups nicely. The Cruzr is more comfortable because the mesh material has some give over your hip bones just like fleece.
The large H2 is about the same width as a size 3 cruzr but about 2 inches narrower unfolded.
When you open the cruzr pleat it is several inches deeper than the H2. giving that fleece saddle effect.
The H2 is a comfortable saddle but the Cruzr is better

The Cruzr has better lineman’s loops, bridge, and I like the waist belt and leg straps better. The stitching is better too.
That said I do like the H2. But the Cruzr has it beat except maybe weight but I have not weighed them yet.

I am smaller than you. I think it will be fine

Weights

Cruzr size 3. 851 grams
Large H2 with a DYI bridge the same. 733 g.
About 4 oz different.

I bet a size 2 cruzr is the same weight with a pleat and the size 3 without a pleat is the same weight.

Of course a phantom is lighter still

I am 36 -37 waist. 43 inches at the widest part of the hips.
I think I could go with a size 3 or 2 cruzr. If I hunted in mostly warm weather I would go with a size 2 if your border line

I think hip pinch is affected by sizing too. There is zero hip pinch with a size 3. But maybe a size 2 would not have any either.

Can you give a width measure on the belt and leg loop webbing? I'm guessing 1" on legs and 1.75" on belt.....

I think $27 us via USPS. Saddle no ropes or bags
It took over 2 weeks. It had a Canadian vacation in Miami for a week

With the leg loops tight but belt loose, how far can you pull the belt up towards your arm pits?

I hope the ability to pull the bottom to your knees does not mean that the leg loops won’t help keep the belt in position (below belly button?) if you have a fall.

I’d like to be able to self rescue without the belt squeezing my chest.
