I couldn't hunt from OCTOBER 29th got hurt at work. Hopefully I will be able to hunt turkey in May.

How often do y'all find that bucks have already shedded out?

Im not too terribly far across the river basically lined up with la/ar border and we'll have a good many of our bucks shedded out in the next couple of weeks. That's with a late dec rut and I know ar is a November rut for the most part.

I'd half looked into crossing over and hunting a February weekend or two, but I just can't imagine that yalls bucks are still holding on.

I feel like last year I saw group of deer and there was a buck in the lead around late Jan or Feb. Our rut is really unpredictable. I am not really sure how many would still have their antlers by now but people say they're dropping now or already have.

That's kind of what I figured. Hopefully one is still holding on and you can stick him.

We can too. Bucks holding there antlers is hit or miss. 2 weeks ago I saw 2 bucks with full racks, and one with a half rack. On tuesday I saw a big dead buck on the side of the road with a full rack still.

By February I have typically run myself down and run out of good will so I just start scouting.

I don't have a buck tag left. Want to get a doe on the ground before season is over. Maybe two. But feeling a bit run down myself.

I've been fairly upset as well! Will start the scouting at daylight Saturday though!
This is exactly how I feel. Started the count down to October and ready to start scouting. I know the patterns and deer change but you still get an idea of what survived and where they hide!
