I couldn't find a pack that was exactly what I wanted anywhere. I like to go with as little extras as possible, like packs that ride high on my shoulders, and give me options to re-configure easily if needed. So, I decided to make what I wanted and it's perfect for me. I can lash down my jacket with additional straps when the temps start dropping. My pictured setup comes in at 10 pounds on the dot and has proved to be tight and comfortable on a couple short practice hikes to check trail cams.
After I take the mini sticks off and attach them to my saddle to climb I use those same straps to hold my bow during the ascent.
On the top row of webbing I ran a buckle strap through, so I can hang it around the tree when setup. Inside of the molle panel (pack body) is 16" x 12" cushion to rest my knees on against the tree. With this setup I have any gear I need right in front of me in the pouches and options to hang any extras on the molle webbing. The whole thing straps tight enough to the tree that it doesn't get in the way when I need to make any moves.
Just thought I'd share!
