OK guys winter is starting to take it's toll on me. Between shed hunting(nothing yet), work and sewing I have been staying busy though. So far I have made 5 sling type items. I have made 1 taller height way, 1 out of just webbing, 1 taller in 2 pieces with separate runner attachments, 1 with MilSpec mesh, 1 with opener heavy mesh. The one requiring 2 runners was comfy but not user friendly in my book...not what I'm after. I have settled on the larger mesh. It sat pretty good but pinched a bit so I took some 2" hollow webbing and inserted a piece of garden hose into it. Then I sewed it onto each side of the sling to keep the sides from closing together (hope I make sense). A HUGE improvement but the hose isn't stiff enough I think I can do better. Today Fed Ex dropped off my camo webbing....not necessary but what the heck. So far I have went thru 2 spools of heavy outdoor poly thread! Here are some pics for you. Understand the 2 pics of my are just prototypes so when the real deal is made it will be done right. And it will have a climbing belt/waist belt with steel buckle. I like the cobra and raptor buckles but am concerned about them being noisy...rattly. Can anyone answer if they are noisy?
Ok fire away with any positive or negatives...what do you think? Any ideas?
