Cut down my LW sticks finally

Just curious. I did the lazy man's no drill LW mod theres the stats:
15 inches step to step.
1.42 lbs no rope
1.70 lbs with 8ft rop mod attached
What do yours weigh. I feel I'm going to awfully mad at myself for asking. I probably could have had another 5 inches with very little weight penalty.... Might be a good comparison for others going forward.

Do you pair it with a CAYG aider? The packability of your mod is better and it seems easier to do. With a CAYG aider it might be the way to go for me.

Do you know what the weight savings were? Do you think I could do it with a saws all?

The 4 cut offs and 4 steps seem to weigh as much as a single full size stick. Which I know what I “feel” isn’t accurate, but I think I cut off about 35-40” of tubing and 4 steps. So minus the standoffs, I guess I technically “did” remove a sticks worth of weight. You could do it with a sawzall if you’re steady with a new blade. I used a bandsaw. But instead of fooling with a drill press, I just did them with a cordless drill.

I will be using one. I like that method, as long as you don’t drop it haha, ask me how I know! Haha

Currently no. I pair it with a moveable aider. Likely this year I will put a single step webbing aider on at least the bottom and then have a single moveable aider for the others. Just to try it out.

It is definitely easy and more packable. However if you make them 3 inches longer that's an extra sans aider. For the weight and space it takes its probably always worth having at least a single step aider with you.

Dropped mine 1x, but fortunately it got hung on the bottom step. At least if you do, you can hold onto the stick and slide down to the next stick(s). Not the best scenario, but at least doable.

Yeah pretty much the same thing happened to me. It was with my heliums. Except I dropped it to the ground. Luckily gravity always works and I just lowered myself down to each stick, really wasn’t too hard coming down, if fat enough that gravity helps me out a lot haha
