Cut down shikar stick?

I have a 22” shikar stick with a cable aider. I thought I wanted it long for one sticking but I think the pro’s of a short stick outweigh the pro’s of a long one. Has anybody cut one of these down or foresee a problem with doing so?
 
It's just billet aluminum. You'll be doing the same thing Matt would have done "from the factory"..
