Lol. I thought the exact same thing.

I mean, he's kind of a hunting celebrity of sorts and he's posting video on YouTube of himself half naked dragging a dead animal through a swamp. I LOVE IT!

yeah but he hunts that marshy, swampy stuff all the time. Just wonder why he never uses em, at least in his vids Ive never seen him in a pair
First thing that came to mind after watching Dans vids and thinking of swampy no-mans land Ive got access to was, "Ive got to get some waders"

Makes me think there is actually a reason for his madness. Like most of his methods, it turns out to genius.
Mabye I'm thinking too much into it though. Hes good at killing bucks, not good at dressing himself?

He has talked about using them some here and there. But, He hunts a lot in these marshes and swamps when they are frozen over. He has referenced articles and stories of hunters whose waders filled with water (in similar locations to his hunting style) after breaking through the ice or floating root mass, resulting in drowning. Heck, there's been a couple hunters a year die here in Texas from flooded waders.

Yeah I was thinking about that (Ive never used waders to know the real deal) but then I figured duck hunters are out in the same mess and they wear em.

I will carry a pfd before I go skinny dipping in that muck though

I like him cause he doesn't give a crap about anything even though thousands are gonna see that video. Hell the video starts out with him wearing a "worlds best farter" shirt. He's been known to call up a turkey by farts.

I'm posting this here because I think it makes sense.

Pay attention to all the analysis he gives throughout this hunt. I think there are a lot of takeaways.

Things that stuck out to me:
1. He needs to be hunting from a tree saddle. The areas that were giving him problems were PERFECT for a saddle. PERFECT.
2. Notice how aggressive he gets. He trusts his instincts and moves right on top of the deer.
3. Notice how he's constantly moving - never really in the same area more than once or twice.
4. He focused on funnels and terrain. For those of you that don't know, Dan Infalt (The Hunting Beast) preaches buck bed hunting. While he did consider buck beds in his hunt, he really keyed in on terrain features that worked in his favor.

There's a lot to learn and enjoy about this video. It's long, but worth it.

I am heading out to work, but will definitely watch this later... i tend to get hung up on a spot...

I watched that I couple times. Great video. I too think because it was rut or pre rut is why those buck were not nocturnal. Plus looks like real good cover in a lot of areas plus he said the other guy hunting was not in the swamp but more on the edges so really only him pressuring. I believe he took his boots and socks off to reduce noise on the stalk

That is a great site and I have learned some great info. That one tree he had to hunt facing it would have been perfect for a saddle
