I sewed a simple pouch yesterday from spare fleece to wrap around the RR and keep it from chewing on the pack or anything else stuffed in with it. Next step is to play with kydex and mold a cover to go on the tree teeth for easy on and off (inspired by you WE steps holster).

That would be a very easy project with a heat gun. I wanna see how it comes out!

I made a run to my local Marshall's and TJ Maxx stores, no luck with HT but I did find this Under Armour bag of similar build. I have some concerns about the longevity of the pack in a hunting application but for $13 it was worth a try.
Ridge Runner fits in the main pocket with ease. The secondary zipper pocket is enormous. With a little bit of creative folding and shoving, I was able to fit my Flex with LB in a dump pouch in the zipper pocket. (Not sure the zipper will hold longterm). Everything should fit better when I switch to Sterling rope this offseason.
I hope it works well for my needs which are protecting the inside of my pack, or noise and strap abrasion if I am carrying it externally.

How are the shoulder straps on this pack? Not much to them and look like they might hurt during a long hike in.
The string is actually a soft foam material, but you are right, long hikes are not ideal for this pack. I will try to think of ways to attach this to a fanny or other pack this offseason.

Thanks. I purchased a RR during black Friday and my current plan is to strap it to my backpack. Would be nice to find dedicated backpack like tethrd has for the predator.
