Distel hitch not catching.

I’m new to the distel hitch so I have to be doing something wrong. I was practicing today with a distel hitch and oplux. I’ve checked the knot several times and I seem to be tying it right.

But when I put pressure on it it just slides down the rope instead of grabbing.
Anything obvious jump out to you.

Add another wrap on the upper side until it bites. 6 mm on 8mm needs that extra wrap.

I love it when solutions are simple!

I'd shorten the legs of from the hitch to your biner by a lot if i were you. Less flopping of rope and cleaner tending but that's just me.
