DIY cable aider for LW stick

Looking for some input on the safety of this design. I’ve tried a couple of different ideas and this seems to be the simplest. If I determine this will work I will address the rubbing of the cable against the aluminum. Will this bracket stand up to this load?

Looks like a good way to make the stick kick out. Just my opinion

I’d put it through the step bolt like all the other designs.
 
Thank you, I tried that but without those special eye ends it is tough to do. Standard crimps are all I currently have on hand.
