I decided to make use of this miserable hot day to camo paint my solid khaki Columbia jacket I found on sale for $50 last fall. I'm not a big believer camo, especially 95% of them that blob up at any distance, but decided to have fun with an ASAT look. Cardboard cutout template with black and brown rattle cans and dark green with a crushed up grocery bag for sponge affects. Less than $60 in it and it will hunt! And yes @Red Beard, it is not UV brightened

I think you did a great job. I hunted a full season without camo just to test the theory. I still killed animals but i also got busted more. I had to setup with more cover.

Love it bro! Muuuuuch better than my bleached bibs.

That looks great! I agree camo is not essential, but in my experience a non-blobbing pattern can definitely help. I’ve often thought if ASAT came out with an updated version with some digital/Sitka looking patches integrated into the original design, it might would sell good. Of course there was nothing wrong with the original pattern, but a lot of guys out there are intrigued with how it looks hanging on the clothing rack.
I think you pretty much nailed this very concept! Thanks for sharing.

Wow that looks so good..... and effective!!! What kind of spray paint did you use?

Added.a pair of cheap wally world Wrangler stretch pants to match the jacket. This is ridiculously simple to do. I may have to rattle can my white Sequoia next with this!

Is it a special cloth paint. I cant imagine regular spray paint on clothes

Nope, just regular Rustoleum flat paint in the right colors. I have used it on clothes and other soft gear for 25+ yrs. It can feel stiff in spots when you first paint it, but after a wash and wear for break-in, it is not noticeable. You don't have to put it on thick, just enough to color. I will add that I do not condone doing this to your saddle or components as it could, in theory, damage or weaken the webbing or other structural parts!

Get out in the woods and take some pics, then edit in gray scale and see how it looks.

Here are the views after the first 2 steps of applying the brown, then black, with the stencil. The deep forest green is applied with a wadded up grocery bag and the paint is sprayed on a paper plate and just dabbed randomly on the garment as the final step.

I like the Predator Fall Gray pattern which is similar in concept to the ASAT pattern. I may have to try this in the offseason to my softshell jacket.

I think it can be done with out camo, but it’s nice to have some To different patterns top and bottom.
a outline can really disappear, with ASAT and something else mixed.
In my humble opinion

ASAT rocks!
Have used it for years (leafy suit and head cover) to fool deer, turkeys and coyotes, (at 5 yds.!).
You don't see it a lot, probably because the "TV STARS" do not wear it, I will see it very occasionally in the hunting publications.

I got some real nice crye precision field pants that are light khaki color that i would really like to do this to but and a little hesitant to use spray paint on them. I was given the pants but they go for 200 bucks. Might have to look at more fabric friendly cloth paint
