I haven't decided to sell any yet because they take so long for me to make, it wouldn't be worth it unless I charged more than anyone would want to pay. If there's enough interest I could look into ordering components and making a bunch, but then there are additional liabilities. I don't have any testing on mine to know what weight limit they'd realistically have. Those are awesome! I am digging the light weight. How much for 3 for a fellow saddle hunter?
Also, how in the world did you dot hat pattern? is it painting or some sort of wrap?
Okaaaaaaaaaaay. I have been in the market for some new lightweight and easy climbing sticks. Most likely will purcahse the muddy pros witht he rope mod. I like what you did tho, those are awesome.I haven't decided to sell any yet because they take so long for me to make, it wouldn't be worth it unless I charged more than anyone would want to pay. The camo pattern on the stick is from the new Stealth Strips "Strata" pattern. For the steps, I just used spray paint. Undoubtedly anodizing or cerakote would provide a better finish, but this will do for now.

FYI, I tried a stick without all the internal reinforcement, just the 6061 aluminum 1/16" tubing. Initial trials felt pretty solid. This saves some weight but more importantly makes manufacturing on my end much easier. I'll keep on eye on it, and if I see deformation, I can always add the reinforcement later. Here are some pics with a standard 2 step alternating aider. The top of the stick, after doing the "Flinging flip" is 8 feet for me. So I'll be able to climb to 24 feet, with 6 pounds of sticks (3 sticks) in probably 3-4 minutes.

Yea. I put a nylon spacer over the bolt so that the loop on the aider is supported by a larger circumference. Doing it like this, the sticks stack easier.I was wondering if your aider ran inside the tube with the bolt through it

https://www.google.com/patents/US8556035I wonder what patents Muddy might have on their sticks.

You sell me the tube and double sided step, I will do the rest!!
Thanks,

Pretty much yea. Materials are reasonably priced off the shelf for the most part. At least in the most minimal configuration.Yeah, that's not surprising, small batch size and all, maybe a part list? Have your priced out all of the parts? I know you built some parts yourself, but all of the other stuff? How much did you build yourself, just the steps?
I sort of like the idea of selling just the custom components as a DIY kit or existing stick replacement. Little lower liability that way. And less assembly on my end.
