I want to thank Ernie with Tethrd for posting the diy video on how to make the HYS strap. Also Mark Dohring for his video, I really liked the finger loop he added to the end to pull it tight. The one thing I did add that I didn't see on any others is, on the end that passes through the main loop. I left a spot to add a carabiner. This allows me to add some weight to the end to swing it around the tree easier. You could also put the carabiner in one of the loops, but i thought it was to loose. This way its tight and doesn't move. I measured and pinned everything, and got my wife to sew it together for me. Ended up with 36 loops, and it comes in at 3.2oz. I followed the measurements Ernie used in his video, the 200", mark at 80" fold, and the 2" and 3" spacing for the loops. I used 1" wide webbing. Total time from start to finish took about an hour. This hanger will stay in my Maxpedition Remora from now on. I switched over to the Remora a few years back and love it, holds everything I need.

What machine do you have?
I’m looking into getting a one to work on DIY projects. My wife’s couldn’t handle 1” webbing.

Its a Singer Solid State, Model: 93220
No issues with the heavier duty material most of the hunting DIY projects require? Looked it up on eBay and it’s the most reasonably priced one I’ve looked at yet.

Seems to handle it pretty well. My wife wouldn’t sew anything on it that she thought would damage the machine.
