This was my first season as a saddle hunter. Did not get many opportunities to hunt nor did I get a buck. I was out enough to know I'm going to continue as a saddle hunter. So to start out 2019 I decided to sew up a new harness to use with my sit drag. I come from a background of 35+ years of vertical caving and SRT so it was natural to model my harness after some of the vertical caving harnesses I've made in the past... because I have confidence in them. I'm sewing with an old Singer 15/91and using 92 bonded nylon thread. Nylon 1.75" seat belt weebing , 1" tubular weebing for linesmen safety attachment, two 1.75" pass thru buckles for leg loops, two 1.75" 2 part cinch buckles for waist and butt strapped and a 10 mm aluminium ,screw gate as attachment point....these were my materials. Because of the limits of my sewing machine I tried to plan out so I never sewed over 3 layers of weebing at a time but once I had to do a small tack with a sewing awl. Took a couple day in my spare time for the harness. The sit drag only needed 4 belt loops for the waist belt and 3 belt loops for butt strap . I tried the harness and sit drag on together and it was comfortable and riding where I wanted, but have not had it up in a tree yet. Will try to make some photos when I do.
