Had this idea rattling around in my head so I fired up the welder and put it together tonight with some scrap steel. It's about 12" wide and 6" deep. Need to add a strap of some kind, but so far I think I like it. Sits at 16 degrees when held against vertical. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Looks good. Can't wait to hear what you think of it on a tree!

Well done. Think you’re on to something here..

Is the idea to tie off on that ring and cam it over like a wild edge step or to lock down into place more like a predator platform?

Think I might take the grinder to the top to create some traction. Planning on camming it over using a strap similar to other platforms. I might need to invest in a spool gun and make this out of aluminum. Reduce the weight.

Yes try it with aluminum.

Love the look of that! Have you tried it in a tree yet? I have just started experimenting making platforms and I too have been thinking Id love to be able to weld aluminum. It’s be so much lighter.

Haven't been able to put it in the tree yet, in the middle of harvest here in North Dakota so I've been working. Stupid work getting in the way of fun again. Hopefully this weekend.
