I don’t think so. I debated for many minutes and decided after standing on it and pivoting and leaning out from it that I like it and it’ll cut down a tiny bit of weight.
 
I really like my perch. Great design and lightweight. Again, I wish I new how to weld!
find a cheap wire welder and cruze through some youtube videos. i learned in high school and worked on the pipe line so ive had alot of learning curve in my welding experience. but its not real complex. once you get the fundamentals down you can do it.
