DIY tether question!!!!!

I am currently working on making my own saddle, tether, and linesman belt. I am making my own because I am on a budget. I have 1/4" Amsteel Blue coming for my bridge, and my question is, will 1/4" Amsteel work to make my Prusik knots from or do I need to order a different material for this purpose? Thanks in advance for all advice.

Do not make tethers or friction hitches from Amstel or any other dynemma role.

I like sterling htp 9mm for tether/lineman and 7mm sterling accessory cord for the friction hitches. I also have a couple of Kong ducks I use instead of the friction hitches these days.

I like Predator rope and I do get it from Wesspur when it's in stock. I use it for both tether and linesman belt. I just like that rope.

I appreciate that info Squirrels. I will look into those ropes. I just really didn't have a clue what would work well other than what Tethrd makes theirs from, which is out of stock at every place I've looked.

I know it's sometimes hard to get
It. You could check with REI thay carry climbing rope but it's white with red and black. Areohunter uses alot of Predator rope and they even had to wait on rope from Samson .
