I can't find any climning rated rope locally. I was tipped off by another saddle hunter that I could use a Hunter Safety Systems LifeLine(local academy) for my tether rope. Hoping to get some input on this as I can use my sit/drag setup much sooner than ordering rope. Thanks.

You could. I believe they make a smaller one that I have been using as my tether for a few years. Should be around 6-8 ft

I wanted to use the lifeline because it comes with the two carabiners included. I need a tether and to weld up my aluminum sticks and I should be set to start hunting out of the saddle. Atleast I hope I will have everything needed.

I've got my RCH and Sit/drag with bridge attached. Also a solid linemans rope.

If I cant get the sticks welded, I'll figure out another climbing method

https://www.aerialadventuretech.com/ sells custom lengths of climbing rope for reasonable prices. I just ordered 3m of HTP for $4.12/ meter. Lead time is about four weeks on custom lengths though.

I understand. I'm using a similar lifeline as a tether until my rope comes in.

Is the quality good? Confident in the safety with it? How do you have yours set up?

Mine works OK but the rope is stiff. It's rated for 400lbs. It's about 11mm so it's kinda thick too. I have a loop on one end with a prussik. I double it up with a sit drag so I feel pretty safe.

Best and safest ‘bang for your buck’ is going to be the hss tree strap in my opinion.
$20 and you don’t have to think twice about whether you tied something properly or not.

The regular safety garners style tree strap? How would that be setup to be adjustable?

Google or amazon “hss rope style tree strap”. It is pretty much exactly what you have posted a picture of, but shorter and cheaper.

Does anyone know if the Tree Spider Rope Style Tree Strap would work as a tether? I bought a new one this year to use with my safety harness. I'm in the process of selling some items, then will hopefully have my hands on a saddle! Just trying to decide what I currently have in my setup that I could use with tree saddle, and put funds towards a platform. Thanks.

The ropes manufacturers offer with their full-body harnesses have to meet safety specs. Are they safe? Yes. Are there 'safer' options? Yes. The 'tree straps' are simply tethers - just used with a full body harness.
