Do I need Knee pads

So I have been saddle hunting for three seasons now and love it. I use a Aero Hunter and keep my tether as high as I can reach and mostly go between straddling the tree in the seated position to leaning back standing up. I have never used knee pads but most everyone on here does. Do they make a huge difference and worth using?

If you have found a way of hanging and not having them doesn't bother you, I wouldn't worry about it. I hang with my knees on the tree a lot and I can't imagine myself not using them.

But you can always get a cheap pair and see if it expands your options.

I used to use them but quit. I use a cheap 1" foam camo pad I bought at Walmart that straps around the tree for my knees.

I'm not a big fan of completely straddling the tree and definitely prefer to wear them especially on cold or wet days. If you get a cheap pair from home depot and figure out you like them I'd recommend you look into the quick release kind that has the straps that hook on. I bought a pair I think Red posted last year and like them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0082288OS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have a green pair of those never worn. I'd sell them if somebody wants them.

I've never used knee pads.. The only time I've wanted them I just ended up turning myself sideway(avoiding the term sidesaddle) and rest with my hip against the tree.
