Hey Guys, I just watched his video about why He doesn't climb with a tether anymore ,one stickers please check it out!

Gonna need a link, I looked up the channel and didn't find anything that seemed to fit. Latest video was about switching from a figure 8 to a safeguard, didn't see any about no tether climbing?

he stated that he had his rappel rope on him so I'm confused why he had to cut his rope.

Interesting video. He mentions the quick link sliding, but also mentions that can be dealt with using a tether locker/stopper. I just put a sliding stopper knot on my rappel rope for this reason. Slack is the quick link’s worst enemy. I also wonder if he doesn’t use a LB at all? Seems like a bad idea if he doesn’t even have one handy. I also don’t one-stick but I think it’s a little crazy to do so with just a tether. I’d be hooked into 30+ feet of rope from the moment I get to the tree. He also doesn’t back his rappel device up (maybe he does in real life) so…yikes?

I never use a linemen's belt, only tether. I hunted for four years not backing up my safeguard, it wasn't till this year I put a prussik above my madrock then I only use it while hanging.
