Dog chewing targets

Maybe you could just make him a small chain link enclosure with a doghouse and let him stay in that at night, when he seems to be getting into mischief.

At night is when I want him free range the most.
Gotcha. Maybe you could find some sort of motion activated ultrasonic repeller and put it near your targets. They also make a motion activated sprayer that will hose animals that get too close. That might not be practical in the winter.

Yeahh I’ve looked at the motion sound devices. Last night wasn’t a problem. I think catching him red handed yesterday better seated in his mind like “ohhh I’m not supposed to be shewing this thing” but before when I was catching him after the fact I don’t think it was fully registering what my intentions were. We’ll see how long this lasts, he’s still a puppy and sometimes I forget that due to his freakish size so hopefully it was a couple isolated incidents.

Yes. hopefully he just outgrows it.

I saw an e collar advertise that uses an ap on your phone to set an area of containment. I wonder if you could use it to keep him out of a certain area? E collars work amazing but I spent several weeks collar conditioning my lab. When I put it on her after that she knew it was time for work. I rarely had to use it on her in the field.

Yeah that’s what we have and I got it bc I thought it could “fence” in the targets but it doesn’t work like that, basically just a 125ft circle from the transmitter that they can roam.

Get an underground fence and bury it around your 3d range. They work to keep dogs out just as well as keeping them in.

Most of the time if a dog is ignoring the shock it’s because the probes aren’t making great contact. An effective solution to this is spin the collar so the probes are on the top of the neck. They will feel it then.

What about a hot wire to go around your archery course. I have a neighbor that keeps his goats and Great Pyrenees confined with a few strands of Hotwire. Maybe that’s been suggested already.

The course in its entirety runs all through my 4 acres soo that would be a challenge at best possibly impossible. The course is built to where right out my front door I have ability to shoot various targets out to 110 yds, and when I’m shooting recurve as the wife and boys do it’s all 30 and under shots but as your at each target the next shots are all at 10yd increments. So the course is pretty much my yard lol
