Double Distels?

Ive been doing a lot of research lately with folks doing a Distel or Prusik ahead of their Ropemans.......has any tried doing 2 Distels or 2 Prusiks instead. One as a primary and one as a back up. I may try it when i get a little time but if its already been labeled a "no go" i wont bother.
