The problem I find with SRT is my one foot kicks out. This solves that problem. I also prefer 1.5" webbing on the foot loops so that it doesn't cut into your feet as much. Gives a more stable feeling.

I like it!
Besides ropewalker or frog system that’s another good way to keep from over developing the muscles or fatiguing just one leg.

You’re using some SRT device and that with an ascender then sit and stand to ascend?

Yes we use an ascender with a carabiner to clip in this and carabiner on the top - which we feed the GriGri slack line through for a two hand pull up. I'll post a pic tomorrow.

I made it. I have a heavy duty sewing machine. The plan is to have them for sale on saddlehuntgear.ca (a store I am in the process of setting up) in the new year. Want one? I will custom make it to the length you want it. Usually they are between 53" and 65" - my son is 5'7" and his is 53" (that is the one shown here). My dad is 6'4" and his is 65".

Yes I would like one. I'm 5'4" and have been doing SRT/DDRT for 2 years and single sticking for 3 years.

It looks good. Do you end up with the strap girth hitched to both feet? It must sometimes be fun to get your feet out. When I climb SRT/RADS I often use my non-pushing foot to hold off from the tree so I couldn't do that with your device.

Your feet go against the tree - one on each side for stability and pushing back. I'll post pics later today. When we get to hunting height it's easy to slip your feet out for standing on your platform.

That makes sense now. I was going to say the same thing as bj139 I use a 1 foot aider on my left foot and use my right foot to keep me from banging in to the tree.
Your way sounds like it would be smoother.

My 65 yr old dad and 13 yr old son use it. It's very, very easy

Here are some pics. The one my dad is using the feet are not as close together. Both of them prefer that, so I will incorporate that moving forward. Short bridge is essential.

Almost like a modern version of the Mar-Bar
I was thinking the same thing. A soft Mar-Bar that is easier to stow, doesn’t cost 400$, and isn’t gonna kill someone or get damaged if it gets dropped lol. I don’t miss the Mar-Bar one bit, but it did make some pretty fast and easy ascents.

I think there’s gonna be some recreational climbers on board for this thing.
