I recently purchased @DanO double steps for the lone wolf stick. Just tossing around some ideas on stick length and versa button position. I'm sure plenty of us have already see some of the mods. I'm just curious about others design. I'll share my rough design, please feel free to comment and or share.
The original lone wolf stick has the versa button at around 32% of the total length. I was thinking of keeping that with a 2' step length.

That should work well, although someone with more experience might chime in. On my DIY sticks I have them at 9.5" (don't remember why). On my Hawk Heliums they are at 8". Both sticks are 24" overall length. I think in general 1/3 from the top is the accepted norm.

Have you practiced taking 24inch steps. I know it sounds silly maybe but that's a fairly big gap specially if you need to wear bulkier clothed in the late season.

Well I changed it up a little from my original design. I went with 22in in between steps and just over 2 ft long overall. One stick weighs exactly 2 lb. I made the offset brackets work so that the sticks stack straight and not offset. I think this will work great.

Just about finished, need to paint the steps. I'm not sure if I should go with straps and buckles or amsteel? What are everyone's thoughts about each option.?
