Double steps “wiggle”?

I have some double steps from EWO on my cut down lone wolf stick that have a bit of a “wiggle” to them under load for lack of a better word. I can’t tighten them down anymore without being able to adjust my standoffs. Any ideas? Or is this normal? I did put them on over top of stealth strips FYI. Thanks guys!

Yeah I know, truthfully, for anyone who is considering modifying, I kind of wish I hadn’t done it. But it’s what I got for now

The Stealth strips actually usually help with the wiggle. I assume DanO has to have them manufactured with kind loose tolerances to accommodate for slight variations in tube diameter and (like me) people who don’t have a drill press and can’t drill a straight hole.

The only time I didn’t have the wiggle was when I built sticks with square tube (without the curved corners) but every time I modded another manufacturers stick it happens.

If that’s the only complaint I had about them I would remove the step. Clean well. Then mix some two part epoxy and apply to the corner area. Then reinstall step and let cure.

I tried that. The epoxy I used broke on the next climb. Grant Im a fat ass.

Aluminum foil! Fold it to fill spot not touching. My shop has like 5 rolls on the bench. Cheap, doesn't stick, and like form a gasket!
